On Sunday, October 26, 2015 at 11:58 AM Mill Creek Fire Company was notified of a garage fire in the 2100 block of Barr Road, Del Park Manor. The initial dispatch was for a working alarm.  New Castle County Police were the first to arrive to report fire through the roof of the residence.  As firefighters arrived they encountered heavy fire in the garage and second floor of the home.  Approximately 60 Firefighters from Mill Creek, Cranston Heights, Minquas, Belvedere, Christiana, Newark and Elsmere Fire Companies responded and battled the blaze for a couple of hours.  The fire was placed under control 90 minutes later.  The residents of the home were warned of the fire by their smoke detector.  The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
