January 11, 2022 – Mill Creek Fire Company was dispatched to a house on fire at 10:56 AM in the 1200 block of Elderon Drive in the Arundel community.   As firefighters arrived they encountered heavy smoke pouring from the two-story single family home structure.   The fire raced through the home from the garage and through the roof of the house.   Two civilians were transported to the Christiana Hospital with one a trauma alert.  There were no firefighter injuries.

Over 40 firefighters from Mill Creek, Belvedere, Christiana, Cranston Heights, Elsmere, Five Points, Hockessin and Minquas Fire Companies battled the blaze in freezing temperatures.   New Castle County Paramedics and EMT’s from Mill Creek and Five Points Fire Companies were on the scene.

The fire was placed under control in an hour and the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.   Units cleared the scene at 1:12 PM.
