MVC with Entrapment

February 28, 2024 – At 06:25 AM the Mill Creek Fire Company was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash (MVC) with entrapment at the intersections of Kirkwood Highway and Limestone Road.  New Castle County Fireboard reported a subject trapped in a white van.    Firefighters and EMT’s were on the scene in a few minutes and found one person trapped.   The person was extricated in three minutes from the heavily damaged van.   Four people were taken to the Christiana Hospital ER for non-life-threatening injuries.   A school bus was involved in the crash and was not carrying any students.

Rush hour traffic was detoured around the scene while the Delaware State Police investigated the cause of the crash.  Mill Creek Fire Company responded with three ambulances along with an ambulance from Belvedere Fire Company.  The New Castle County Paramedics also response to the crash along with DELDOT for traffic control.  All units cleared the scene at 7:15 AM.
