House Fire - 2400 Block Duncan Road

On Janauary 9, 2011 at approximately 10:52 AM Mill Creek Fire Company along with Belvedere, Cranston Heights, Five Points and Elsmere Fire Companys responded to a house fire in the 2400 block of Duncan Road off of Kirkwood Highway. Fire Chief Fred Eysaldt was first on the scene and reported heavy smoke showing. Two adults and two children were able to escape the home without any injuries. Approximately 40 firefighters battled the blaze in freezing temperatures. The home sustained heavy fire and smoke damage. No firefighters were injuried and the fire was brought under control in 30 minutes. The State Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire. Hockessin and Avondale Fire Company (PA) covered Mill Creek's fire district during the alarm.
