August 8, 2024 – Starting around 7:30 PM Mill Creek Fire Company started to receive reports on wires and trees down from Klair Estates through Sherwood Park and beyond.   The local ABC news station confirmed a tornado touched down in the area.

The Acme store in the Kirkwood Plaza shopping center had part of their roof damage, trees have fallen on homes and cars from Kirkwood Gardens to Sherwood Park.   The storm passed through Duncan Road and Crossgates off of Mill Creek Road.   No injuries were reported.
