Joined Mill Creek Fire Company as a member of the Explorer Post 921 at the Age of 17 Over the years Dean has served on many companies committees: Fire Prevention,Membership,Picnic, Building & Grounds Archive,House Rules,Bylaws,Fundraiser,Budget, Parade,Trucks & Ambulance Replacement, Kids Christmas Party,Banquet,& Chairman of Building Station 2 in Pike Creek. Dean has held several Office position starting as Asst. Sergeant of Arm, Sergeant of Arms, Several years on the Board of Directors PIO Officer Vice President 1987-1989 President 1990-1991 Fire Captain & 1st & 2nd. Asst. Chief 2002 - 2010 Awarded Several Unit Citation Awarded the Chiefs Award in 2006 Awarded the Metal of Valor Award in 2009 Severed many years as Alternate & Delegate for the NCVFA,DVFA, Del-Mar-Va-VFA & CVVFA Servered as Director and President of the: Cumberland Valley Firemen Assoc. 2004 Delaware Vally Fire Chiefs Assoc. 2012 Life Member of Mill Creek Fire Company Cumberland Valley Firemen Association Delaware Valley Chiefs Association.

Dean was named "President Emeritus" at the fire company's regular meeting on October 21, 2024.
